A widowed military wife finds unexpected love from an old friend who carries a heavy burden with the help of a new friend who carries a mysterious secret on the shores of Whelk’s Island.

Synopsis

Widowed Marine wife, Amanda, moves her two young children into a fixer-upper cottage on the beach, intent on giving her family the new beginning they desperately need. When these three new residents of Whelk’s Island meet Maeve, a spirited island lifer, the kids find a magical, new friend with her extensive shell collection and Amanda finds a kindred spirit who shares her grief experience. But when Amanda discovers that Paul, her husband’s Marine best friend, lives along the same beach, she comes face to face with her own guilt over pushing him away after her husband’s death. Paul, struggling with his own guilt of abandoning his best friend, has redirected his energies into his passion project - a rehab facility for military dogs and their Veteran handlers. Initially reticent to seek help, Amanda starts to accept both Maeve and Paul’s support, allowing her to finally heal and begin anew. As Amanda and Paul rectify their past and find forgiveness in the present, a spark is ignited, but newfound confessions from Paul leave Amanda grappling with how to fully let go of her past until unearthed secrets from Maeve guide her back to her family and her love.
