A history teacher known for a best-selling novel on famous hauntings, brings his students on a field trip to Teardrop - an abandoned and haunted mining town; but he too has a secret past that is directly intertwined with Teardrop’s tragic history.
Synopsis
Chris is a history teacher and novelist who rose to prominence after writing a best seller on haunted ghost towns. It’s been a year now and his publisher is anxiously awaiting his next book. Chris decides to bring his students and a fellow teacher along on a field trip to Teardrop - an abandoned mining town that doesn’t exist on a map and is said to be cursed after all of its settlers were mysteriously wiped out. Chris is hoping that this is the place that will cure his writer’s block. The group arrives at Teardrop and takes shelter at the old saloon hotel. The place is run by a strange man named Denver who seems to recognize Chris, despite having never been here, and warns them all not to spend the night. He tells them that Teardrop is haunted by the ghost of a girl named Lorelei - a child who was drowned in a bathtub by her father, the town’s Hanging Judge, for not being able to cry. Chris is adamant on staying and assures his students that the owner is only trying to scare them. Paranormal events begin to occur over the long weekend - and we learn that Chris isn’t just here to write a book. He has a secret past of his own - one that’s directly intertwined with Teardrop’s tragic history.
