When Jessica’s sister goes missing, she uncovers a secret boyfriend her sister never mentioned…one that may have kidnapped her.

Synopsis

Jessica has the perfect life. She’s incredibly close with her older sister, Tara, and their mother, Janet. Jessica is starting junior year in high school and has been studying for the SAT’s all summer. Her sister, Tara, is heading to Princeton this fall and although she’s happy for her, she’s sad that her sister will be leaving to start a new life. Jessica’s ex-stepfather, Michael, is coming over to take Tara to a goodbye dinner before she leaves for college. The next day, Michael calls Janet to tell her Tara never showed up at the restaurant. Days pass and Michael and Janet, along with the police, scour the areas to find Tara. Pretty soon, they discover cameras in the house and Janet thinks someone is following her. Jessica does some digging and finds out that Tara had a secret boyfriend, Ryan, who she met on a dating app. Jessica is able to hack into Tara’s dating app account and read Tara’s messages to Ryan. Ryan is very pushy and is constantly asking Tara to drive to see him. The night of her disappearance, she was supposed to see him after her dinner with Michael. Jessica uses the social media platform, Sing Song, to make a plea for anyone who has information on Tara’s disappearance to step forward. She also tells everyone what she knows about Ryan. Later that night, a mysterious figure is lurking outside their house. It’s Ryan! He tells Jessica he had nothing to do with Tara’s disappearance and that he may know who’s involved. Ryan then shows up dead but before Jessica and Janet can go to the police, they’re attacked. The real culprit was Michael. He’s always been obsessed with Tara and planted the cameras in Janet’s house so he could watch her. He couldn’t handle the fact that she was moving away/headed to college and so he kidnapped her to keep her with him. Now Janet and Jessica have to save their sister before Michael kills them all.
